i'm baaaack

i can't believe it has been over A YEAR since i've updated the ole' blog. things have been so crazy...(in a good way). while there is no way i could completely catch up on everything that's happened in the last year i can at least hit the high points.

we traveled last may to mexico and spent a week in what quickly became our favorite place we've vacationed so far. lots of people have been to mexico, but if you haven't been to Excellence Playa Mujeres you have been missing out! i would highly recommend this all-inclusive north of the tourist mecca of cancun. we had an amazing week, relaxed, met some new friends, and went on an awesome excursion that included a full day of zip lining, mud riding on four wheelers, and then rock jumping and swimming in a cenote'. it was a blast!

                    - one lesson we learned on this trip was that our idea of "relaxing" is pretty different. nathan LOVES all of the activities they constantly have going on at the resort (volleyball, pool volleyball, ping pong, poker tournaments, etc). i love laying out in the sun, ordering drinks, and going to the spa. after a meltdown that consisted of him thinking i'm a lazy bum/me having my feelings hurt that he "didn't want to hang out with me" we figured it out. just like a lot of things in a marriage, it's all about compromise.-

last summer also had some pretty big milestones for several people very near and dear to our hearts... nathan's fraternity brother, college roommate, and for lack of more description...bff, wes got married. we were so happy to be included in his and anna's special day. funny thing about that is that when wes and anna first started dating anna and nathan couldn't stand each other! haha. now they are like two peas in a pod. wes and anna live across the street from us and we are all constantly laughing about how wes and i are alike and nate and anna are alike.

also, last summer my little brother got engaged and was just married in march. it was so cool to really see my little brother grow into such a wonderful man. i'm not going to spend a lot of time on this subject because anyone who knows me knows i will most likely start crying into my laptop if i get too mushy. the short and sweet is that he and lorianne had a beautiful, precious wedding and i'm so happy for both of them.

nathan and i both had a heck of a year work-wise. nathan had an incredible year and became the youngest person in his company to be promoted to a senior sales rep after just 2 years. work for me didn't change dramatically aside from the fact that the economy seems to be on the upswing a bit as we were a lot busier this year than last.

i know this entry has probably been a tad boring and ill try to make the next ones a little more entertaining...promise.

the moral of the story is that god has continued to bless us far beyond what we deserve. we're grateful.
